went to desaru with dear and a bunch of colleagues (appu, sis oh, yean) over the May day holi.. we drove 3 cars down to desaru so that we can travel arnd more freely.. it was a relaxed trip, doing nothg much, just lazing arnd..
we stopped by kota tinggi waterfall on the way.. i rem gog there when i was very small and everybody just jumped into the cold cold water gushing down from the waterfall.. well the most i hav done now is just to step into the water and took some pics haha.. pass my childhood phase le.. how sad..
lost a bit of the way to desaru but managed to find it back.. originally booked a holiday chalet but i was aghasted by the conditions of the chalet.. the moment u walked in u can smell stale air and the toilet was like "OMG".. we managed to demand for a refund and booked resort rooms at Desaru Golden Beach Resort instead.. hmm.. much better..
the 1st day was spent on exploring the place.. went to the petting zoo, played go-kart, and walked arnd at the town.. wanted to ride a horse actually but after hearing the stories of the poor horses from the go-kart owner, i gave up the idea.. the horses were not given proper nutrients they are supposed to be getting and they hav to stand in the hot hot sun for the whole day and drinking water was not readily available.. poor thgs..
the next day we woke up at 6am, hoping to catch the sun rise.. disappointment cos the sky was overcast.. managed to capture some pics anyway..

we went to rent the jet ski after breakfast.. wanted to rent 2 but the owner told us that only 1 is working.. but we wanted to hav the fun tog so we willingly wait for the owner to repair the other jet ski.. we waited for 3 whole hrs and in the end he's not able to repair it! in other times i would hav blew up but we actually lazed at the beach for 3 whole hrs doing nothg but play water, sand and drink beer and listen to music.. cool.. ended up we had to take turns to ride on the only working jet ski.. dear drove the jet ski so fast that it was such a bumpy ride but it was damn fun!
we drove up to the ostrich farm in the afternoon.. first time i see so many ostrich and in such a close distance.. realised that ostrich can be such an "irritating" element cos its past time is to peck on thgs so while the worker is showing us arnd, one of it kept coming after us and tried to peck on our toes, head, body, everywhr.. and it's so huge lor.. scary~~ but it was a very educational and fun tour.. how often can one get up so close to so many ostrich who are way taller than us..

after our seafood dinner, we went for our fireflies tour.. we travelled to an ulu jetty by the resort bus and board a boat.. it was very dark with the stars shining brightly above us.. the guide uses a ladle to splash water on the surrounding trees and the fireflies all light up.. wow! it was a pretty sight.. just like the lights on a christmas tree.. he managed to catch a few and placed them on my hands.. so happy to see them glowing on my hands! din managed to take any pics cos i supposed it wont turn out to be as nice as wat we experienced..
the next morning we checked out of the resort after breakfast to drive up to the fruit farm.. had durians there and bought mango hm.. drove back to singapore after that.. it was a fun and relaxing trip.. will definitely drive up there again when there's chance =)
