Beauty Essentials For Brides-to-be!

Seriously i tink brides' money are the easiest to earn among all consumers.. u just hav to say the magic words: 'hey it's once in a lifetime' and they will be won over.. confirmed guaranteed without fail! okie so u shd hav guessed im speaking from experience.. my dear better dun see this post.. i tink he will flip dunno how many times over the $$ i hav spent.. hiak hiak..

Facial Package: $2920

The 1st thg a bride shd do is to go for regular facials.. and im not talking abt just normal ones ok.. there's treatment to rejuvenate my eyes and different kind of intensive treatments for my face.. so on and off when there's new treatment i will be so tempted to try it out in hope that my face will miraculously become flawless! well dat din really happen but i must say my complexion did improve.. yeah for this kind of $$ it better be good.. and i have not even included the money i spent on the super duper recommended pdts.. hmm.. at least another $500? *heartache*

IPL: $1200 (approximately)

okie this is for my underarms.. dun need to go into details lar but it's ermm.. quite essential.. haha..

Mani & Pedi Package: $360

U might ask.. is it really necessary to buy a package? can't i just book one appt on the day b4 and just do it? the ans is: no! okie to be fully convinced that the mani & pedi for my wedding day is perfect, i must first try it out rite? so i went to try this ladyfinger nail salon on the day b4 my co D&D and did the exact nail colour i wanted for my wedding so dat i can visualise how it would be.. skills and outcome not bad.. and they convinced me to buy this package where i get to enjoy free treatments like feet collagen treatment, nail mask, callous pad and quick dry top coat.. yes amazingly they hav all these fancy treatments just for the hands and feet!

Dental: $198

Heng i can claim $150 from my company dental benefits ah.. The initial bill shd be cheaper but i did smthg extra.. again.. my front tooth filling is actually still intact but it has some discolouration which is not really a big deal.. but i just want to hav a perfect smile on my wedding day.. so i told my dentist to do smthg abt it.. end up he got to redo the filling which is not a very pleasant experience.. u know the front teeth are quite sensitive so the discomfort level is quite unbearable.. but it's worth it! *BIG grin*

Wedding Invites.. and more..

Went down to T-dragon on sat with dear to select our wedding invites.. it's super duper crowded!!! prior to that i actually went to their website to take a look and cant really see anythg i like.. luckily when we went down, the gal showed us some exclusive cards for Crowne Plaza couples.. the wedding invite has the hotel iconic motif which we like very much.. so after some (or rather lotsa) waiting and discussion, we just have to go back and come up with the layout and design.. which is the difficult part..

Sigh.. actually there's a lot more stuff for us to do and follow up on.. but i simply hav no motivation at all.. has been feeling really stressed and depressed recently.. it's not really the stress of hvg so many tasks to do.. tasks are easy to managed but it's more of the complications that arise now and then.. i simply cant take it anymore and break down in front of dear dear the other day.. i tink he's really shocked and dunno how to react.. he thot that it's due to that one incident but it's actually the pent-up stress and frustrations dat i have been holding back.. 

This is really unexpected cos im usually quite bo chap abt thgs.. very difficult to explain this feeling but if it's gog to be this way until the AD.. i tink im just gonna burst and die!!!

Schedules Schedules!

Finally met up with Master Chiang @ his office to get his advice on the auspicious dates for 过大礼 and 安床.. at the same time checked with him on the auspicious timing on the AD itself.. haha u can call us superstitious but we wanna make sure everythg goes well :)

din know there's so many stuff to take note for the two rituals.. hopefully we will rem the correct steps.. it's not easy task k especially the 安床.. hav to place ang baos at the respective positions.. and items like oranges, red dates, peanuts etc etc have their exact way of positioning and have to buy the correct type e.g hav to buy red dates with seeds, peanuts which are not halved.. arghh.. hopefully i can rem!

anyway with the auspicious timing for AD we can start planning our wedding schedule! luckily the timing all swee swee.. not too early not too late.. we got a very tight schedule cos we will be hvg solemnisation and lunch wedding all packed in the afternoon! *phew*

Talking abt solemnisation.. we finally confirmed our soleminsor! it's gonna be Mr Phang.. he's the solemnisor for Dajie and Appu.. he sounded real nice on the phone, explaining the procedures to me.. one reason i chose him is bcos he has dat 慈祥 look.. like a grandfather figure.. i supposed it will look nice in the photos.. haha.. yup i've been told dat's a funny consideration but i feel dat it's impt lehhhh.. 

More Preparations!

Just collected my portrait, album and tabletop from my BS.. quite satisfied with the end product! Haha.. but they missed out our mini album.. *sad*.. hopefully they can get it done soon and everythg will be ready! Err.. well.. almost..

Pple have been asking me how’s our wedding preparation and I will reply “okie leh.. like nothg much to do..” but after the appointment with the BS on Sunday it seems like we have quite a number of decisions to make.. and there’s only 4 months left!!! *stress*

Things done:

1) Bridal hand bouquet (yup it’s pink!)

2) Bridal car décor (not much choice)

3) MUA for both 1st and 2nd march in (additional $$)

4) Bridal car confirmed

5) Bought ang bao box and feather pens

6) Photographer (by BS) and videographer (Dear’s fren)

7) March in songs decided

8) Facial sessions booked till November

Things to do:

1) Confirm the auspicious hour the groom to fetch the bride

2) Confirm the schedule and duties for whole event

3) Confirm the hairstyle and accessories for the day (by early Nov)

4) Fix a day to bring daddies, flower gal and page boy for fitting

5) Confirm solemniser

6) Book solemnization date

7) Do up the 2 montage (One done!)

8) To liaise with hotel for food tasting

9) Decide theme of the banquet

10) Decide wedding favours

11) Decide flavours for cupcakes

12) Guo da li (absolutely no idea!!)

17) Diet diet diet! (me hit my peak weight from all the eating binge.. boohoo)

Wedding Updates!

Opps! no updates for sooo long since the photoshoot.. one thg for sure i have *ahem* put back on all the weight i have lost for the photoshoot.. darn.. can only blame myself for the food binge right after the shoot.. haha.. the big day is in arnd 6 mths time.. got to buck up!

hokay back to the preparation works since the photoshoot! went to choose photos and after much pain we added only 21 photos even though we definitely loved more photos than those we have settled on.. cant believe we actually spent 5hrs at the BS just to select the photos and bargain top-up prices *phew*.. so total 61 pics! shd be enough to have a decent album bah..

abt another mth later we went to see the album design layout.. din actually know wat to look out for.. suggested some changes here & there and dat's it! now waiting for the portrait and album to be ready.. here's the raw copy of one of the photos we quite like.. the final copy is actually edited to 70s retro style but i dun have the soft copy yet..

next thg up: the wedding car.. this is my dear's task and he has confirmed the VW New Beetle Cabriolet! Niceeeee! I like...

Photoshoot 05 March 2010!

Photoshoot was damn tiring! but it was real fun.. I guess the photographer, Yi Ke Shu, was very good at perking pple up with his jokes and encouragement.. and of cos the company of my sister helps in relieving the stress level.. the make up artiste is very good too! She knew exactly wat to do to hide my *ahem* limited flaws.. muahaha..


We entered the studio not knowing wat to expect and started with the 1st change of wedding gown and make up.. once done, YKS and his assistant got ready for the shoot.. there was a tutorial by the assistant and YKS took a few shots of our different angles and showed us to make sure we are ok with the style.. and here we go!


the assistant turned on the stereo and loud music was blasting.. mainly 周杰伦 and 张震岳 songs.. it really helps in setting our mood especially when YKS started to sing along damn loud.. haha.. The style for wedding gown was romantic, kua was fun and evening gown was sexy.. It was not easy actually cos YKS was looking for the right moment and right feel to capture that moment.. At the end of the studio shoot my eyes were damn tired and my mouth was all stiff..


and then it was time for outdoor shoot! we went to Crowne Plaza 1st and got in touch with our hotel coordinator, Jesmi.. She was very nice in showing us around the place and suggested nice locations for our shoot.. Took the foyer, lounge, hotel room, bar and poolside.. catch a few glimpse of the pics.. nice!


Afterwhich we gonna rush to Sentosa! The place we had our 1st date =)


It was a total rush cos we had to catch the sunset.. we went to the greenery to take a few "lying-on-the-grass" shots and proceed to the beach.. we changed into our casual wear and felt much relax.. we managed to catch the sunset! the pics turned out to be real romantic as dear carried me up in the sunset with our lips kissing each other.. den we tried a few other poses with dear piggyback me and a few other "sexier" shots..


Kinda miss the time we spent having the PS.. it's hard to describe the feeling.. it's like an experience that me and my dear will never go through again.. and I would want to rem it for the rest of my life.. *this simply means that I will surely choose more than my stipulated 40 pics!* =P

Our Wedding Band!

We bought our wedding band!!! Actually we did not tink of buying the band so early but it was stated on the photoshoot checklist to bring our wedding band.. So we panicked and went to vivocity just one day b4 the shoot to buy the band.. haha..

We walked into Lee Hwa and was extremely pleased by the service of the salesperson.. She gave very good advice and when we explained to her that we actually need the rings by the next day, she told us to select the design we like 1st without being affected by the timeline as this will be our lifetime band.. we took a long time to choose our wedding band but she was very patient in explaining each and every good point.. Finally we chose the above Destinee wedding band cos we like the simple yet classy design! =)

It was a painful short wait while she called the factory to see if they have our ring size and yeesh! they have it! usually it will take 3 days to deliver the rings but she managed to get them in 3 hrs and even done the engravement for us! Happiness!

Photoshoot In 2 Days Time!

awww.. will be hvg my wedding photoshoot in 2 days time! long b4 I booked the photoshoot date, i strived to lose at least 5kg.. exercise at least 3 times a week.. control my diet.. tone up my muscles.. but till today none of the above happened!!! the only thg i have done is to apply slimming cream every nite.. lousy me..


i never ever knew that preparing for a photoshoot was so damn tiring and worrying.. we were so clueless abt everythg until we met up with the MUA and PG.. anyway the following were done:

final fitting of the gowns and suit - checked

matching shoes - checked

hairstyle - i was told to dye my hair and dear to trim his hair just 3 days b4 the shoot! traumatising!

shooting venue - checked

stuff to bring on the day - checked

wedding band - no wedding band yet.. boohoo!


anyway im sure we will have fun on that day!

Gown & Suit Selection - Done!

Our 1st appointment with Sophia Wedding Collection and everythg is done! yup the coordinator is damn efficient.. one gown after another.. i think i must hav tried at least 30 gowns?! too bad we cant take photos so nope, no preview :P

anyway my dream wedding gown has always been the elaborate kind with lotsa details.. so the one i chose is ivory colour with lace and crystals & sequins all over, and ruffles at the hem of the gown.. me & dajie actually cracked our brain choosing between the elegant type and the diva type and i decided i want somethg different hence this choice! and my dear said that i looked prettier in this.. =)

and next is the evening gown! tried on every shape and colour of gowns and had a great laugh over the funny ones with dajie.. finally i chose my fav colour pink gown with black laces.. i simply love the contrast! and i decided that my theme for the wedding will be hot pink! muahaha..

chosen the outdoor photoshoot gown as well.. chose a sweeter looking one with a ribbon in front so that it has a different look from my actual WG.. and of cos the kua..

next is my dear's turn! he's quite game actually.. willing to try different colour and style.. in the end we chose one which match my WG but im quite surprised my dear is willing to agree on it.. but then im sure we will look good tog!

Wedding Banquet Confirmed!

The wedding banquet is confirmed.. with 3000 bucks deposit.. arghh heartache!!!

so far so good.. The coordinator of Crowne Plaza has been quite nice and helpful.. she even offered to arrange the hotel venue for our photoshoot.. still pondering whether to hav PS there or not.. 

Coming up: Gown selection is in 3 weeks time.. im still clueless despite flipping thru so many bridal magazines! Photoshoot is in March & im still in my *ahem* original shape.. boohoo...

Next big thing on the wedding checklist: the venue!

Went to Crowne Plaza Changi Airport and meet up with our coordinator.. She showed us the ballroom, the solemnisation room, the reception area and most importantly the package.. dear & myself quite like the place but we gotta confirm the no. of tables 1st.. working out the guest list and realised it's quite difficult to keep it a simple and cosy event cos the list just goes on and on......... everybody seems to be inter-related to somebody else! anyway got to settle it real soon b4 some other couple beat us ahead in confirming the hotel!!!

oh yah and someone from HDB called me this afternoon and told me we are eligible for the provisional ballot.. hmm.. watever that means!

BS confirmed! Sophia Wedding Collection

Another day of BS shopping and finally it's confirmed! My fren recommend Sophia Wedding Collection to me during one of our gals' gathering and so I went down halfheartedly as it seems like their package is on the steep side.. Met up with our coordinator Ann and browse thru a few albums.. the designer showed us a few gowns and im really impressed! There's lotsa details and bling bling on their gowns and the trains are soooo long.. very grand indeed.. 

However our eyes nearly popped out and jaws dropped when she showed me the package price.. Was whispering to my dear to find a chance to stop her and scram haha.. but after listening to her and adding up the sums we were convinced.. she threw in quite a number of stuff and most importantly the no of photos.. so we finally signed up the package.. whee! one tick checked off the list!!!


Gonna start preparing looking at the short timeline.. Gown selection is in Dec and Photo shoot is in March.. Arghh.. I got to lose the fats in 3 months time!!!  

Shopping 4 Bridal Shop!

Finally took a step into the preparation of our wedding today.. shopping for our BS! Actually we only went to three shops but managed to shortlist the one that both dear and me like.. so I guess that's it.. have not signed anythg yet but we will be going back soon to get it done!

That's also the only shop that bothers to let me try a few gowns to have a feel of whether I like it or not.. the coordinator seems friendly enough and quite experienced.. she took quite some time to explain the package to us.. very personalised service.. and I simply loves their wedding gowns! I tried on two different styles and I love both instantly.. seriously I dun tink I looked too fat in them *phew* and the 1st time feeling of wearing a gown is... well indescribable.. and most importantly dear says I looked nice! muahaha..


Thanks to Dajie and Tion who took time to travel around with us to source for the BS.. and of cos the bargaining part too! =)
